While things do slow down a bit during the summer months, the winter season brings with it a seemingly endless supply of activities that keeps Saddlebag Lake Resort a bustling community. From crafts to cards, dance to exercise, or even meals to music, you will certainly find something that tickles your fancy or entertains your inner spirit. So checkout the variety of offerings below and come join your fellow ‘Baggers for some fun.
FUN DAY
FUN DAY is an annual Saddlebag Lake Resort tradition. It occurs on the Second Saturday of March every year. Each year, the FUN DAY is given a theme which is used throughout the event. FUN DAY consists of: Morning Breakfast, a Parade, Lunch Under the Oaks, Afternoon Entertainment Shows, and an Evening Dance. All Saddlebag Residents are encouraged to participate. FUN DAY is organized by a group of Resident Volunteers. Additional information will be provided via the Saddlebag Resort Express as the event progresses.
Community Church
Come join us as we gather for a time of reflection, thanksgiving, prayer, and an inspirational message from God’s Word. We are a non-denominational, Bible-teaching church that encourages people to Love God, and Love People.

Koffee Klatch
Perhaps the most informative activity in the community is the weekly Koffee Klatch. Each Monday at 10am throughout the year, enjoy a cup of coffee and a donut while you get updates on everything Saddlebag related. Besides the humorous anecdotes of the month’s guest MC, the meeting also includes:

Pool
Rack ‘em up! If you enjoy a good game of pool, check out the billiards activities located in the Rec Room. Both social play, and a competitive league-type play are regularly going on and available for you to join in. Check out the calendar for more details of when organized play is in session.

Bingo
Up for a game of Bingo? Doors open in season each Friday at 5pm, with the games beginning at 6pm sharp. Come and bring your daubers and lucky charms for a chance to win one of the many games played.

Crafts
Do you have a crafty side? There are a variety of painting and crafting sessions held in the clubhouse during the winter season. Details of upcoming craft projects are often highlighted during the Monday Koffee Klatch meeting. So get out your paints, glue, and scissors and join the craft group in making something truly special.

Dancing
If dancing is your thing, you will certainly have several opportunities to strut your stuff. Several clubs host dances throughout the winter season, often bringing in outside musical talent of various styles and genres. In addition, you can learn some new dance moves by joining one of several lesson sessions that cover both line dancing and couples dance. So get on your dancing shoes and participate in some of these activities.

A number of clubs host a variety of meals throughout the season. Here are just a few examples:
- Garden Club provides meal service each Friday before bingo
- Tennis/Pickleball Club hosts several Chili dinners
- Horseshoe Club serves several Spaghetti dinners
- Mens Club has their fabulous chicken dinner - which is a community favorite

Music
If you like music, you’ve come to the right place. We actually have quite a bit of musical talent right here in Saddlebag, and they often have jams to show their skills. Whether it’s a Beach House jam, a social happy hour gathering, or even a karaoke setup, you will have lots of opportunities to enjoy the many talents of our residents.

Swim
Besides simply enjoying the pool to refresh and relax, there is also opportunities to get in a bit of exercise. Most every morning at 9am, come to the community pool to enjoy a water aerobics session. Jump, stretch, and move about in the safety of water buoyancy for some low impact exercise. Check the calendar for exact date and times.

Saddlebag has many clubs, activities, and amenities. We have our own U.S. Post Office, tennis/pickleball courts, a clubhouse with full kitchen, a nondenominational church service, a swimming pool, sauna, library, exercise building, dog park and dog wash station, golf range, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard court, pool (8-ball), a large craft group, two laundry and shower locations, RV storage area, thrift shop, boat launch, boat dock, Bingo, and an open-air beach house where you’ll frequently find musicians and parties going on. We have monthly community potluck dinners, many card playing activities (euchre, rummy, bridge, etc.), ping pong, bowling, street block parties, Canada Day (to celebrate our neighbors from the north). During the Christmas holiday season, we have a boat parade where residents decorate their boats for Christmas and cruise around the lake, and a golf cart parade of Christmas decorated golf carts. Both these events take place after nightfall and the lighting and music effects are amazing to see. Just so you know, this isn’t a complete list of what happens at Saddlebag but it is a long enough list to let you know you will never be bored living here!
